Optimal education
Welcome to De Schakel, a public primary school in the Jutphaas-Wijkersloot district! De Schakel is a school where optimal education is provided to all children aged 4 to 13.
The teachers of group 1 and 2 ensure a cheerful atmosphere and a positive social environment in which children feel safe. Regardless of their native language, they come to play and explore.
English speaking, reading and writing is taught from group 1 to prepare the children optimally for the subject of English in secondary education.
We encourage parental involvement as much as possible by giving at home activities that are in line with the subject matters taught in the classroom.

After you have completed and submitted the application form, your child’s teacher will contact you by phone two months prior to your child’s 4th birthday to schedule an introductory meeting. During the introductory meeting we would like to get to know you and your child better. Your child can explore the classroom with you and his/her new teacher. We will schedule a settling-in timetable where your child can visit school either in the morning or afternoon to get comfortable and familiarize themselves with their new class and school environment. After this settling-in period, your child will be accustomed to a full day of school. You are welcome to enter the school and assist your child with their coat, bag and finding their seat in class.
